For many businesses, Facebook is still a very successful platform to attract new customers and clients. If your ideal customers are spending time on Facebook than your business should have a presence on the social media platform.
Despite the algorithm reducing the reach of our page posts to our likers, I still have continued success for my own businesses as well as my client’s businesses and it is just a matter of knowing how and what to focus your attention on.
Here are my top 8 tips to continue to achieve success with the time that you spend on Facebook:
1. Include a link to your Facebook page from your personal profile.
When you are interacting on Facebook and especially within Facebook groups, people will like the help and support you offer and will want to learn more about your business. They will go to your personal profile and look for a link to your business page. If you don’t have that link there you are missing a huge opportunity.
Here is what it looks like.

The blue text stating my business, is actually a link to my Facebook Business Page.
To add this to your personal profile, simply go to your profile, click on the “Update Info” button at the bottom right of your cover image, go to “Add a Workplace” and start typing your page name in the company section. You should then see your page name pop up underneath that you can click on to select. That will then create the link for you.
2. Invite people that have liked your page posts to like your page.
This little trick works really well. Many times, people will see your page posts via a friend of theirs that likes your post and may like your post as well but don’t actually like your Facebook page. Or you could be running ads and people will like your ad but didn’t actually like your page.
You can send those people an invite to like your page to build your liker numbers with people who actually like what you are posting.
On your page under your posts you will see the names of people that have liked your post. When it gives you a couple of names and then says “and ? others” where ? is an actual number click on that text and you will get a box that shows the names of everyone that liked that post.
If you see an “invite” button beside their name than that means that they haven’t liked your page yet. Simply click on the invite button and Facebook will send them an invite notification to like your page.
3. Be helpful and offer value in Facebook groups.
Become active in a few Facebook groups where your ideal customers are hanging out. Don’t go in there with the purpose of selling but instead go in there to genuinely help others.
When people ask for advice on topics that are in the area of your expertise, than offer as much help as possible. Be genuine in wanting to help others without expecting anything in return. People will start to notice you and then be aware of your area of expertise.
If it is a busy group the search function will viagra online 24 hours help you look for posts using specific keywords.
4. Use page insights.
Your page insights will tell you what reach and engagement each page post receives. This data is invaluable as it tells you the type of content that your likers prefer.
You can also find out the days and times that your likers are live on Facebook.
Use both of these insights to help you know when to post and what to post.
5. Make the most of the sections available.
On your Facebook Page there is various sections that Facebook provides for you to add information about your business to make it visible for people visiting your page. These sections vary depending on the category you have your page listed under so have a scroll through to see what your options are.
If you are in the service category, for example, you have the option to include details and pricing of the different services you offer.
Complete as much information as is possible so that people don’t have to go searching for information on what you offer.
6. Use your Page Cover Image.
The cover image is the first impression people get of your business when they land on your Facebook page. Make sure it is a good representation of what your business offers.
Have a purpose for your cover image. You could use it as an opportunity to offer a free optin or promote your latest offering. Include one of the buttons that Facebook has made available to you that will appear at the bottom right of the cover image to give visitors a clear call to action. Button options include Sign Up, Book Now, Call Now, Contact Us, Send Message, Use App, Play Game, Shop Now, Watch Video, Send Email and Learn More.
Also include a description with your image. If you click on the image you can include more details and a link to a page on your website that relates to what you are promoting on your cover image.
7. Utilise video.
Facebook is favouring video content over other content in their algorithm so take advantage of it and post more video in your page posts to increase your reach and more people actually see what you are posting.
The video needs to be uploaded into your post as a video file for this to be effective. Don’t use a YouTube link or other video link but instead upload the video file directly into your post.
8. Facebook Live.
Following on from using video, Facebook Live is also being pushed into people’s newsfeeds by the Facebook algorithm so it is a great opportunity to get more exposure. Even after your Live has finished Facebook will continue to show the recorded live stream to your audience and will favour this content over text or image posts, which ultimately means more reach and engagement from your audience.
Video live streaming is also the perfect opportunity to build trust and a connection quicker with your audience compared to normal text or image posts.
Overall, keep in mind that Facebook is a social media platform so place a huge emphasis on being social. Don’t use it as a broadcasting platform to talk at your audience but instead be social and build relationships over time.
