In November 2012, Pinterest introduced Business Accounts. Previously, accounts were only meant to be set up in personal names but this all changed in November.
On first glance, personal and business Pinterest business accounts look very similar, however there is a few variations.
There is a new Terms of Service Agreement in place which now states that any account that wishes to use Pinterest for commercial purposes must create a business account and agree to the business specific Terms of Service.
Within the business section of Pinterest at www.business.pinterest.com you will find many resources and educational material for using Pinterest for business such as driving traffic to your Pinterest account and building your followers.
I believe that there will further resources and features for Business accounts in the not so distant future.
To set up a business account you can either convert an existing account or you can create a new one.

Once your business account is set up you are then given the following options:
1. Verify your website – this involves uploading a html generic viagra for cheap file or inserting a meta tag on your website. Once this has been done your website URL becomes a clickable link on our profile and in search results.
2. Add a Pin It bookmarklet to your browser so you can easily pin images to your Pinterest boards from a website you are browsing.
3. Add a Pin It button to your website to make it easy for others to pin your images to their Pinterest boards.
4. Add a Pinterest follow button to your website to make it easy for your customers to follow your boards on Pinterest.
Pinterest Profile
We suggest that the following strategies are followed when setting up your Pinterest account
- Claim your username as www.pinterest.com/yourbusinessname
- Use a logo that is easily recognisable and associated with your business and keep your branding the same as on other social media channels and your website
- Complete your profile in full with details of your business
- Include links to your facebook and twitter accounts by connecting them to Pinterest. This is done within your settings on your Pinterest account.
- Use your business keywords to name your Pinterest boards. This makes sense from a SEO point of view plus it highlights your business in relevant categories to your followers.
Now all you need to do is build your followers, follow others that are of interest to you and your business and start filling your boards with pins.
We look forward to following you at Pinterest. You can find us at www.pinterest.com/webonize.
