By now you would have realised that we now have less than 6 weeks until the New Year. Less than 6 weeks until a new decade!
I don’t know about you but the speed at which the years are flying by is C-R-A-Z-Y!!
Have you reached all the goals you set out to achieve this year? Cast your mind back to 1st January 2019. What was the vision you had for your business for this year? What did you want to achieve? Have you achieved them or are you still in the same place that you started the year at?
Perhaps you even created a beautiful vision board with images depicting where your business would take you in the future. Was it to earn more money? To travel more? Or to upgrade your home?
I have no doubt at all that you can achieve everything your heart desires but having a gorgeous vision board hanging in your office isn’t going to get you there. It is a start but it is only the very first step and you need to do more to turn those dreams into a reality.
Roadmap
Firstly you need a roadmap, or a plan to get you from where you are now to your destination. You need to have a clear picture of exactly where you are now and then what you need to do to get you to that destination.
Lets use a money goal as an example. Say you want to be earning $10,000 per month in your business and at the moment you are earning $2,000 per month. So you need to generate an additional $8,000 per month.
How are you going to do that?
Are you going to continue to offer what you already offer or are you going to create a new program or offering? What is the cost of that new offer? If it is $1,000 then you will need to sell 8 in addition to what you already have on offer to bump you up to $10,000 per month. If the existing $2,000 per month you are bringing in won’t continue into next year than you need to sell 10 of your $1,000 offer per month to achieve your goal.
Action
Now you know what you need to sell, how are you going to achieve that? What action do you need to take in order to find those paying clients that are going to purchase what you have to offer?
Do you have enough people on your email database and in your social media communities to make an offer to? Do you need to build your email database by setting up a marketing funnel and running Facebook Ads? Do you need to grow your following and engagement on social media? Will you be a guest on podcast episodes to grow your profile?
You need to work on around 1% conversion rate to start with to reach your goals. So if you have 1,000 engaged people on your email database than you should get close to reaching your goal of 10 sales. However as the months go on, you need to be continuing building on that engaged audience so that you have fresh people to continually market to. Of course, that is a rough guide, many other factors determine your conversion rate, but it will give you a starting point. Adjust as needed as the results start to come in.
While a vision board is a great starting point and will provide you with continued inspiration while you are working towards your goals, the roadmap and the action is what will get you to your final destination.
