Using Facebook Advertising to grow your business can be very rewarding and highly effective. Every week I am blown away by the results I achieve for my clients by using Facebook Ads in a strategic way.
But many small business owners struggle at the very first step and that is how to actually create the ads in the first place and navigate your way around the Ads Manager and the Power Editor.
This video takes you step-by-step through the process and shows you exactly how to create your ads using the Power Editor.
I always highly recommend using the Power Editor over the Ads Manager to create your ads as it gives a lot more flexibility. For instance, you don’t have a text limit in your Ad when you create it using the Power Editor.
Here are some links for easy reference:

2. Power Editor: https://www.facebook.com/ads/manage/powereditor/
3. Facebook Advertising Policies: https://www.facebook.com/policies/ads
The policies surrounding what is acceptable in your advertising is constantly changing. Make sure you keep up to date on what is allowed to avoid having your Ad Account shut down unexpectedly. I have had many clients just have their ad account shut down without warning for violating policies so it is in your best interests to have a full understanding of the policies and re-read them on a regular basis.
4. Facebook Image Text Check: https://www.facebook.com/ads/tools/text_overlay
While Facebook has relaxed the 20% text rule on images used in your Ads you still need to be mindful of how much text is on your image. Text on your images includes text laid over a photo or image, text-based logos or watermarks. It also includes text in thumbnail images used for video ads. Facebook prefers ad images with little or no text and if your image contains too much text your cost will be higher or the ads won’t receive much reach.
You can check how Facebook views the amount of text used by uploading your image at the URL show above.
There you have all the basics to get started with Facebook Ads. Start slow with a small budget and test what works for your audience.
