If you aren’t familiar with a sales funnel, it is a system implemented into your business that takes a potential client on a journey from not knowing you or your business, to learning more about you and what you offer with the goal of having them purchasing from you.
A common format with online marketing starts with a lead magnet to get an email lead. Examples of lead magnets could be an eBook, PDF, cheatsheet, checklist, quiz, video series, a challenge or webinar.
Prospective clients enter their email address to get the lead magnet you are offering and will then receive a series of ongoing marketing follow-up, normally by the way of emails and paid ads to make them more familiar with your expertise and what you offer with the final goal of them purchasing a program, product or service from you.
A common question I get asked is “How can I get my sales funnel bringing in better results?”
And the answer isn’t always an easy one as there are so many variables.
It is an ongoing continual process to be always refining and improving the results at every step of the funnel.
The 2 things that you need to have perfected in order for a sales funnel to be effective are:
Knowing your audience intimately.
Having a deep understanding of who you are targeting, what they are thinking and what their problems are and how you are providing the solution.
Having your messaging so dialed in that that the audience you are targeting believes that you know them better than they know themselves and they can personally relate to your marketing copy.
If you miss the mark on either of these things then you aren’t going to experience massive success no matter what you do.
Then once you are happy you have nailed your audience and your messaging, you then need to make your way through every step of the funnel once you have traffic going to it. Look at your conversions and results through every step of the process and aim to improve each step in order to improve the overall performance of the funnel.
