Is your page guilty of any of these:
- Posts are feeding from Twitter with short 140 or less characters and continual use of hashtags;
- Posts automatically feeding from blog posts and no other interaction ;
- Post after post promotes your product or services;
- Plain old text with no visual interest, such as images, videos or links;
- A page that is picking up likes from sources such as liking ladders so there is continual posts from others such as “I have liked your page, come like mine”;
- Same old posts over and over again with no variation;
- No interaction with likers posts and comments on the page;
- Posting a number of posts in a row and then not posting anything further for 24 hours.
Now, let’s wake it up!!
- Don’t automatically feed your tweets from Twitter – you are catering to a different audience on different social media channels;
- Interact with your likers and respond when they make posts on your page or comment on your posts;
- Ask engaging questions;
- Use the 80/20 rule – only 20% of posts for self-promotion purposes;
- Use images, video’s and links in your posts and not just text on its own;
- Don’t participate in liking ladders – it will do more harm then good;
- Vary the type of posts and information you are posting;
- Space out the timing of your posts by using the scheduling feature in Facebook;
- Posts don’t always have to be related to your business. Try some humour and things that your audience will relate too.
