If you are reading this post I am taking a good guess that you are struggling with the marketing of your business.
You are trying all the things that you hear other business owners having success with, you are reading blogs, listening to podcasts or even watching webinars but despite all this you still can’t get your marketing to work.
You are spending hours upon hours on social media and implementing new strategies but you just can’t seem to break through the noise and have a steady stream of new leads coming into your business.
I am here to tell you, don’t give up! Your marketing will work as long as you you have 3 vital components really clear.
Without these things, no matter what strategy or marketing you try, you are not going to have success. These 3 things needs to be “air-tight” before you start to see results with the time you spend on your marketing.
These 3 things are knowing your ideal clients better than they know themselves, being super clear on what problem your offer/service/product solves for your ideal client and communicating your offer with the right message so that it appeals to your ideal client enough in order to purchase from you.
Lets look at these in a little more detail:
Ideal Clients
So many business owners don’t like to narrow down who their ideal clients are as they feel that they will then turn others away that don’t fit that ideal client avatar and lose sales.
I get it, I used to feel exactly the same way.
But please trust me when I say that the truth is totally the opposite.
You will still get other clients that don’t fit perfectly into your ideal client avatar.
But trying to be everything to everyone is limiting your business and stagnating your growth. Ever heard the saying “by marketing to everyone you are marketing to no one” and it is so true.
People buy from a specialist and they buy faster with less resistance.
There is no such thing as being too niched down if you are clear on what you do and who it is for.
In fact, this is exactly what you need to do.
You need to be so clear on who your client is, what their thoughts are, their problems, their fears and their desires. You need to be able to get inside their minds and know their life in detail, know them better than they even know themselves.
Promise
This is the transformation your service or product provides or the problem you solve.
This flows on from knowing your ideal client really well. What their problem is or what transformation they are seeking.
Only when you know this really well can you provide a solution with what you are offering.
You then need to position yourself, your product or service as the answer to that problem and make it desirable enough that they need to purchase.
Message
Your messaging then brings the first 2 components above together.
You need to know exactly how to talk to your ideal clients, in the language they would use and at the stage they are at now, before they purchase from you.
Your messaging and marketing should then lead them on a journey from this present time with the problem they have now, to working with you to solve that problem.
Using emotional triggers in your messaging is very powerful, to show that you know them super well and how they are feeling.
This shows that they can relate to you as you show that you know them well and what they are experiencing and that you are the one that can lead them into the future, solving their problem or providing them with an outcome that they desire.
Only once you have these 3 components nailed down will you get the best possible result from your marketing. It will make it easier to formulate a marketing strategy that will work to attract the client you are targeting. There is no one size fits all when it comes to marketing. Every business and every offer is different so you need to customise a strategy that will work for you.
If you aren’t seeing success with your marketing go over these three components and continue to do so until you have refined it perfectly.
